Vet Conference

I just spent this past week in Orlando at a veterinary conference. It is the second largest each year in the whole country. It's hosted at the Gaylord Palms which, you can tell from the picture, is just massive. There are also two other hotels that have lectures, labs and exhibits and several hotels that offer rooms. Mike didn't come with me this year because we thought he'd be bored not going to the amusement parks. Both of us love roller coasters so the parks are just torture for me right now since I can't ride them.
I did learn a lot of new and interesting things that I think I can use on my patients as well as picked up some free samples. Normally I replenish my pens for the year but there wasn't many given out this year :( I attended a total of 22 hours of lecture. Unfortunately I got sick from the lunch on Saturday and spent Sunday throwing up. After that I ate lunch each day at the other hotels. By yesterday I was tired of lectures so I went to the outlet mall. They had both a Carter's and an Osh Kosh outlet so I had too much fun! I got the cutest little striped overall shorts! (Yes mom, I still remember ours!) Last night I had the good luck of being at the right place at the right time and got a free buffet dinner and games at Sea World. They had a Shamu show scheduled for later but it was too cold (really, we've been having a cold snap). Today I drove back home and I'm happy to be back with Mike and the dogs :)

Hallelujah, it's about time you updated your blog!

Sorry to hear about the Sunday vomiting (that's no fun) but it sounds like you had a good week overall. 22 hours of lecture probably wasn't fun, but whenever I take a class to keep my teaching license current, I always find that I enjoy learning new things, and brushing up on old ones.

Isn't shopping for baby clothes the most fun thing EVER? I still get a little sad now when I buy baby clothes for friends' showers. I know in my heart that I can't handle any more kids, but I'm still sad that I feel like the "baby" time that I had with my own went WAY too fast. I still call Olivia my baby... now that she's almost 3, it definitely has to stop!

I really wish that you & Mike and Brett & Jamie lived closer, because I would LOVE to be able to get my "baby" fix from cuddling with my nephews; afterall, I do owe you some free babysitting! I bet it's gonna be torture for your mom to be so far away!

Since Orlando has such great outlet stores, it is great you took advantage while there. Little boys clothes are so cute now, so dressing little Mikey will be a lot of fun, and you'll get to change his outfits several times a day. I can't wait to go baby shopping when the stores here start getting in the clothes that will work in Miami.

Even though it is a little hard right now, I like to see that you are still keeping up with new information in your field and get to use it.
